Purpose:
To strengthen NMCAA communities by empowering people to improve the quality of their lives through client advocacy, casework and education as well as Financial Management Services public relations.
Essential functions: Customer Education Teach workshops in prepurchase education and financial management. Manage educational environment whether over zoom or in person. Collect data such as attendance records and evaluations. Distribute educational packets and materials. Review/update curriculum annually with FMS staff. Customer Advocacy and Casework Conduct successful interviews with potential homeowners, renters, post purchase and mortgage default customers to establish needs and devise a case management strategy. Provide accurate, relevant, and helpful information to assist customers in developing solutions in money management, credit related and housing issues in a one-on-one consultation. Explore workout options with the customer through a financial review and monthly budget. Assist potential home buyers prepare for buying a home and provide guidance regarding the mortgage process. Aid homeowners at risk of foreclosure to submit loss mitigation packages and negotiate workout options as necessary on behalf of the customer. Public Relations Responsible for promoting good public relations through public speaking to promote NMCAA's services. Present at outreach activities in the community. Maintain regular contact with customer groups and/or community partners to promote Financial Management Services Programs. Other Maintain customer records according to HUD guidelines, compile files, create case notes, conduct file audits, and maintain data and interaction adhering to strict privacy guidelines.

Minimum Education: BA or BS in human services field, accounting, business or equivalent. High School diploma with minimum 5 years work experience in related field. |
Minimum Experience: Experience working with low income or at-risk individuals, Previous experience working for a nonprofit organization, social service entity, financial/ mortgage institution, or in education. |
Essential Abilities: Must be able to utilize excellent communication skills in individual or group settings, Must be self-motivated and able to multitask. Must be able to work independently or in a team setting. Strong computer skills and knowledge a must. Experience with zoom, PowerPoint, excel and adobe and other computer systems preferred. Should be organized and detail oriented. Must maintain strict. code of privacy and confidentiality. A commitment to the NMCAA philosophy and mission. Ability to interact positively with co-workers and clients in a non-judgmental, tactful, and courteous manner. Ability to suggest innovative approaches in completing job responsibilities. Ability to work openly and cooperatively as a team member. Ability to perform physical tasks to carry out specific job duties. |

Utilize excellent communication skills in individual and group settings, good organizational skills, self-motivated, ability to work independently and as an effective team member and have a commitment of the NMCAA mission. |
