Job Title: Director of Homeless Prevention Programs

Supervisory Responsibility: Homeless Programs Staff

Job Summary:

Oversee Homeless Prevention staff and support agency departments in achieving the mission and program objectives through established policies and procedures. Ensure effective collaboration within the community and statewide to deliver services aimed at ending homelessness in the North Michigan Community Action Agency (NMCAA) region, while managing the NMCAA Continuum of Care (Coc) Homeless Prevention in alignment with the Northwest Community Engagement Hub (NWCEH) goals.

Duties/Responsibilities:

Coordinate and maintain Homeless Prevention outreach and community services, developing new resources as needed.
Represent NMCAA in regional efforts to end homelessness, collaborating with NMCEH which acts as the Homeless Assistance Resource Agency (HARA), and the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) as the Lead Agency to improve community systems.
Gather feedback on NMCAA services through participation in NWCEH and CoC bodies, implementing necessary policy improvements.
Oversee homeless prevention managers and staff, empowering them to deliver client-centered, housing-focused services.
Review the Coordinated Entry System annually with partner agencies and implement required internal policy changes.
Act as a liaison with community partners, contractors, and indigenous tribes, promoting Racial Equity initiatives in Michigan.
Direct participation of HP managers in community interagency teams and represent NMCAA in HARA activities.
Develop and manage grants/contracts for the HP department, ensuring compliance with all requirements.
Collaborate with the Executive Director and department leaders to promote agency cohesion and effective communication.
Support ongoing planning, program development, and evaluation using Results Oriented Management and Accountability (ROMA).
Ensure compliance with state and federal program requirements while mentoring and training staff. Manage all aspects of Homeless Prevention programs.
Represent NMCAA professionally and knowledgeably.

Education and Experience:

MS preferred or equivalent experience.
Bachelor's degree or equivalent in management, human services, or a related field. Five years of experience in non-profit administration and management preferred.
