Homeless Program Supervisor

Job Summary:

The Housing and Homeless Services Supervisor will collaborate with the Housing Stability Programs

Operations Manager to ensure that the Housing and Homeless Services programs administered by Northwest

Michigan Community Action Agency (NMCAA) align with our shared mission to end homelessness in the

communities we serve.

Duties/Responsibilities:
Provide ongoing guidance and training to staff to ensure compliance with grant requirements.
Hold weekly team meetings and monthly individual meetings to coach and update on client and staff
needs.
Ensure case management staff follow best practices in housing-first, trauma-informed, and client-centered
approaches to promote housing stability and reduce homelessness.
Collaborate with service providers to connect Case Managers and clients to resources, including Veterans
Affairs services, counseling, addiction treatment, and food pantries.
Work with Housing and Homeless Services Supervisors and NMCAA staff to support the community.
Track financial and rental assistance and monitor spend-down rates through client/financial logs.
Ensure accuracy and completeness of check requests, invoices, reimbursement requests, and other
financial transaction documentation from case management staff before submission for approval.
Review monthly grant expenditure reports and case counts to track program progress.
Conduct biweekly case reviews with Case Managers and Outreach Staff to ensure adherence to best
practices and Rapid Rehousing standards.
Provide annual performance reviews and feedback to staff, highlighting growth areas.
Coordinate with local partners for the annual Point in Time count as required by funding regulations.
Conduct monthly client file reviews to ensure quality, confidentiality, and compliance with documentation
standards.
Monitor staff caseloads and client progress to manage assignments and transitions effectively.
Run routine Homeless Management Information System reports to maintain 97% data quality and inform the
Housing Stability Management team of improvement recommendations.
Attend weekly management meetings to contribute to strategic goals for ending homelessness.
Participate in biweekly check-ins to discuss staffing needs and program updates.
Represent NMCAA at local workgroup meetings and engage with community partners.
Collaborate with the Housing Stability Management team to identify new opportunities to end
homelessness through grants and partnerships.
Assist in hiring and training case managers, providing ongoing mentorship and evaluations.
Maintain equipment logs for agency property assigned to supervisor's team members.
Perform other duties as requested.

Education and Experience:
BA/BS or an equivalent combination of education and experience preferred.
A minimum of 2 years of experience in a related field is required; 3-5 years is preferred.
