Meals on Wheels Driver Coordinator

Job Summary:

The Meals on Wheels Coordinator oversees the Senior Nutrition program in a select County, managing volunteers, kitchen staff, Meal Transporters, and Site Coordinators to ensure timely meal preparation, delivery, caring visits, and safety checks for Meals on Wheels and Congregate clients while handling necessary financial and administrative tasks.

Duties/Responsibilities:

Recruit, hire, schedule, train, and supervise Meals on Wheels volunteers, kitchen staff, Meal Transporters, and Site Coordinators in a selected County.
Maintain communication between staff, volunteers, clients, NMCAA, and the selected County Council on Aging.
Oversee kitchen operations and staff to ensure compliance with safety, sanitation, and nutrition standards.
Manage monthly menu distribution, kitchen equipment, and conduct site visits to ensure regulatory compliance.
Train and support Congregate site coordinators and explore opportunities to increase Luncheon Center participation.
Complete intake forms, manage client changes, and address client needs, emergencies, and referrals while maintaining accurate records.
Serve as back-up delivery driver, ensuring caring visits, safety checks, and timely meal deliveries. Process daily deposits, track client payments (including SNAP), and manage monthly client statements, bills, inventory, and in-kind records.
Ensure accurate Congregate attendance and send end-of-year letters to volunteers.
Promote the program, collaborate with local organizations, and assist with fundraising activities. Attend required training and assist with computer-related issues.
Perform additional tasks as assigned by the manager.
Manage the Senior Nutrition program, ensuring compliance with all standards and supporting program growth.

Education and Experience:

A minimum of a high school education.
College degree in a related field is preferred.
Coordinator must obtain Serve-Safe certification at the agency's expense.
