Tax and Financial Management Services Intake Specialist



Position appointment is temporary seasonal December-February at 40 hours per week

Purpose:

Help low-moderate income families, seniors, veterans, and persons living with disabilities get the tax refunds and credits they deserve for FREE! Undergo on-site IRS training and make a big difference in your community by providing clerical support, scheduling, and client assistance to support the VITA Free Tax Preparation Program. This position also assists in connecting tax clients with additional financial services programs within NMCAA such as financial education, workshops, online classes about IDAs, saving, asset building and improving financial wellness.

Position appointment is temporary seasonal December-February at 40 hours per week.

Essential functions:

  1. Receptionist and clerical support for tax program
  2. Assist customers with pre-tax packets
  3. Prepare customer mailings
  4. Provide reminder calls to customers
  5. e. Support intake duties for additional programs in the Financial Management Services Department

Position Objectives:

1. To greet customers and schedule appointments.

2. Work with Tax Program Staff to provide efficient and friendly service in seasonal tax preparation program.

3. To represent NMCAA in a professional, supportive, and knowledgeable manner.

Measured by:

  1. Annual performance reviews.
  2. Annual ROMA reports.
  3. Ongoing assessment.

Minimum Education:

Some college.

Associates or above preferred.

Minimum Experience:

Some college preferred, but not required.

  2. Physical activity that always requires extensive time working on a computer.
  3. Physical activity that often requires travel by car and/or air.
  4. Physical activity that often requires lifting under 25 lbs.
  5. Physical activity that sometimes requires bending, stooping, reaching, climbing, kneeling, and/or twisting to access files and records.
  1. Physical activity that sometimes requires lifting over 25 lbs. but not more than 50 lbs.

Minimum Environmental Expectations:

The Tax Program Admin Support operates in an office setting. This position routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets, and fax machines.
