Job Title: Meals on Wheels Driver Coordinator

Supervisory Responsibility: Reports to Senior Nutrition Manager

Job Summary:

The Meals on Wheels Driver Coordinator oversees meal delivery, safety checks, and client interactions in Grand Traverse and Leelanau counties. This role manages a team of volunteers and staff to ensure timely, safe, and compassionate service to Meals on Wheels and Congregate clients.

Duties/Responsibilities:

• Recruit, hire, train, schedule, supervise, and recognize Meals on Wheels volunteers and staff in Grand Traverse and Leelanau counties.
• Organize and attend required annual training for staff and volunteers; maintain training logs. Facilitate communication between staff, volunteers, clients, and NMCAA.
• Coordinate meal routes in Grand Traverse and Leelanau counties, with advisory support for Wexford and Missaukee counties.
  Complete client intakes and maintain relationships with referral sources.
• Generate daily route sheets, frozen meal tags, labels, and reports for the Traverse City kitchen. Serve as backup driver, delivering meals, conducting safety checks, and providing client visits. 
• Assist Cadillac kitchen with meal generation and route sheet printing in the coordinator's absence. 
• Track volunteer mileage and hours; send end-of-year appreciation letters.
  Update CARE eVantage records, including annual rollovers and NAPIS updates, liaising with the Area Agency on Aging.
  Serve as a liaison to client assessors, completing assessment lists as needed.
• Help prepare and distribute monthly client statements, including private pay billing and deposits. Prepare the monthly newsletter and assist with IT troubleshooting.
• Attend required trainings, assist with fundraising, and perform other duties as assigned.
• Ensure timely, safe meal deliveries with caring visits and safety checks.
