Job Title: Meals on Wheels Program Specialist - Cadillac

Supervisory Responsibility: Reports to Senior Nutrition Manager

Job Summary:

The Meal on Wheels Program Specialist - Cadillac supports the Senior Nutrition department in Wexford/Missaukee counties by handling client service, administrative, and financial tasks as well as assisting with meal preparation and meal delivery as needed. Responsibilities include managing inquiries from home-delivered clients, supporting Congregate luncheon sites, processing payables and deposits, assisting in kitchen with meal preparation as needed, and serving as back-up driver for home-delivered and congregate clients. The specialist also supports compliance with program standards and requirements, provides support for fundraising and community outreach efforts, and assists the broader Senior Nutrition department as needed.

Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Respond to inquiries from home-delivered meal clients, complete intakes, manage client changes, address client needs, emergencies, and referrals, and handle follow-up while maintaining accurate records. Maintain positive communication with referral and community organizations.
    Generate meals, route sheets, and reports for the Cadillac kitchen.
  • Work with MOW Coordinator Wexford/Missaukee counties to support Congregate sites in Wexford and Missaukee counties as needed. Provide training, supplies, and technical assistance to site coordinators, and ensure compliance with regulations during site visits. Maintain Congregate attendance records. Track client feedback.
  • Prepare forms, templates, and greeting cards for clients and staff.
  • Support compliance with program standards and requirements.
  • Assist with fundraising, communications, and grant administration as needed.
  • Process payables, prepare deposits for meals, donations, and SNAP payments as needed.
  • Assist in kitchen with meal preparation as needed.
  • Purchase food and supplies when needed. Serve as back-up driver, delivering meals and conducting safety checks with empathy. 
  • Ensure timely delivery of meals with positive client interaction.
  • Perform additional tasks as assigned by the Senior Nutrition Manager and MOW Wexford/Missaukee Coordinator. 

Education and Experience:

High school education or equivalent experience.
Working with the public, in a related field, or with the senior population preferred.
